Every vendor at our mall is showing up fine in the search (yay!) -- except the gargish / gargoyle vendors (weep!)

I'm on Pacific and the house is in Luna.

Thanks!

Vendors at the UWF Luna Mall on Atlantic don't seem to be showing.  These vendors are inside the walls.

What's this, ANOTHER Ultima Online free shard thread? That's right, but don't run away just

yet, here's why I think you should play this server:

    * It's not just the ruleset, the players are similar too. There's blacksmiths on duty

repairing items. Skill gains are hard so a player economy exists because not everybody has a

pet mule. There's dungeon PKs, PvPers, duelers, crafters, banksitters, bank thieves and tamers.

People actually go out and train skills properly, and players exist that are not either

roleplayers or AWESOME PVPERS WHO PWN FAGGOTS U MAD.
    * The staff are awesome. Tired of Hybrid GMs deleting your faction silver? GMs on this

shard are like GMs on OSI. You don't see or hear them unless they are fixing stuff. Staff are

also banned from playing on the shard or having anything to do with player affairs. I don't

even know their names. Oh, and accounts are never deleted for inactivity.
    * The server needs you! This is a great shard that should be huge. Their implementation of

T2A/Pre-UO:R is pretty accurate, and they are constantly working to improve the bits that

aren't. The staff are professional and the players are nice. There's people about, but it's the

kind of shard that can only get better with more.

Don't worry if you've never played UO before or never played during the T2A era, I personally

believe it's the game's golden age, so you'd be signing up for a fun, balanced, tested gameplay

experience. This is Ultima Online, warts and all, no shortcuts. Most of the hilarious UO

griefing stories or oldschool comics came from this time.

Useful information
Shard name: UO: Retribution
Shard IP: login.uoRetribution.com
Shard Port: 2593

IRC server: irc.quakenet.org
Channel: #UO:Retribution

Shard site: UORetribution.com
Client download & more info on the website!

You'll probably need something like Razor to connect to the shard instead of the official

servers.

Most of us can be reached in IRC if not in game, and if you have any questions about the shard

feel free to ask them here. If you're tired of the same old bullshit on your current shard and

want to see things done right, give Metropolis Reborn a try, likewise if you've never played a

free shard, or even UO at all.

Useful information for new players (will be edited over time)
"T2A" refers to "The Second Age", the first expansion pack for Ultima Online. It fixed a lot of

the broken mechanics which made the original Ultima Online kind of terrible but it came before

EA's watering down of the game to appeal to a wider audience. This is why many players consider

it the golden era. This shard aims to be an accurate reproduction of Ultima Online circa

1998/1999. Unfortunately, some of the "watering down" that came later includes newbie tutorials

and other things which make the game less rough on modern gamers. At the moment, Ultima Online

throws you right into the world with no hints about what to do first or even what you can do.

If you're completely new to the game, you may find it helpful to train a character that has

melee skills. This is so that you can physically defend yourself against trolls etc while

learning how the game works. Don't worry too much about getting your first character perfect,

UO is a skill based game, there are no classes. Instead of rolling "a hunter", you make a

character and train him in Archery, and Stealth, or whatever you like. If you later decide to

change your character, you can just train up new skills in place of the old ones. My first ever

character started life as a miner before becoming a monster killer and eventually a PvPer. You

train most skills by using that skill, so chop trees to gain Lumberjacking, try to hide to gain

hiding, etc. Post in the thread if you want more information.

Fencing, Swordsmanship and Mace Fighting are all fine choices for a newbie. These control how

often you land a hit, and the Tactics skill controls how much damage you do. The Healing skill

lets you use bandages to heal yourself, and the amount healed can be boosted with the Anatomy

skill. If you grab a shield you can also get Parrying, which offers extra protection but

restricts you to using single-handed weapons. These basic skills will let you go out and

explore the game world without getting immediately eaten by a bear. Ultima Online is a pretty

huge game, and it may take a while to get used to it, so don't worry if nothing makes sense

right away, or you've no idea what you want to do.

If you die, you become a ghost at the spot where you died. Everything you were carrying (except

newbie items) will be on your corpse for anybody to pick up. Your corpse lasts for roughly 15

minutes before vanishing. To return to life you must find a wandering healer, a town healer, a

shrine, or a player to resurrect you. Wandering healers spawn randomly in the forests of the

world and can be found by running around. Every town has a healer building which you can find

on maps. There's 8 shrines dotted around the world, but if you're not near one they can be

difficult to reach. Players can res but they need a high level of Magery or Healing skill to do

it, so not every person can. When you come back to life you will be naked and vulnerable, so be

careful if whatever killed you is still around. Also, you can stay hidden or invisible while

looting your own corpse, but nobody else's.

If you're in the mood to do some reading, you could do worse than the official Prima strategy

guide for Ultima Online: The Second Age. This book is packed with information that was relevant

to the original game in 1998 and is relevant to this server today.

Finally, if you want more information about something, don't be afraid to ask. Ask in this

thread, ask in IRC, or ask in game. Most of the people who play free shards have played UO in

some form before, and we know how daunting it can be to start out, so ask away! No question is

too minor.

Please put the classic search back to the way it was.

If you really want to keep it the way it is, please change the map so that it looks like the classic search used to.  And remove the large lettering on the map that shows the coordinates.  If the map shows what the houses look like in the game map, people will not need the coordinates.  Maybe show them as a "mouse over" in case someone wants the coords.

I have very much enjoyed this website search capabilities and I think it is awesome.

Tokuno houses are not showing up on Drachenfels either. I knew they did in the past.

Please add Tokuno to the search again! This was the feature that made you stand out!

Could have sworn it did... Have a vendor on a friends house right outside the wall on atlantic.  Sorta depressed that it's not showing up on the listings when I know it would have a while ago.  Do I need to make an actual request for the vendor house to be watched?
