hi!  first off, wanted to say that i've been a HUGE FAN of your site since you first started - i use your site daily, sometimes hourly!  it's been a life saver at times, and definitely a money saver.  i am amazed at all the new changes you are implementing and all the work you've put into this!!!  i always refer my friends to your site (not to mention all the noobs who are clueless as to how to find anything for sale in the game!).  and i am THRILLED that you will now be including Tokuno!  i have an Atlantic Tokuno house and this is beyond exciting Smiley

i don't know if these are temporary issues caused by all the changes you are implementing, or if they are actual bugs, but i wanted to mention them to you anyway (love this new forum too!):

[1] i used to do a search for name token (with and without quotes) and i'd get a list showing all the name change tokens for sale.  now when i search for name token i get a whole bunch of stuff not even closely related (like repair deeds and jointing planes).  so instead i've been searching for change token, but that of course also includes gender change tokens.

[2] i used to search for talismans with really high exceptional skills - i would put this exact phrase in the search block and hit enter: talisman "exceptional bonus: 30" and it would show me only those talismans with an exceptional skill bonus of 30.  now i get every single talisman out there, regardless of exceptional skill level.

i also have noticed that your site doesn't often recognize new items that have been added to the game until months later.  it won't find the newest items added with the latest publishes (55 & 56) like the spiderweb deed or conjuror's grimoire.  but it also doesn't recognize items added months ago like the magical lockbox.  i wanted to point that out, but it seems (if i'm reading your current announcements right) that the new improved finduo will recognize newly added items much faster.  WOW - update - i just went and did a search for spiderweb and it did find 3!  the search results show a cliloc error, but at least it found them - yay!

Checking out items in your post 1 by 1 ...

I typed in ..

talisman "exceptional bonus: 30"

it gave me this ...

Seems to be working as it should?  Was this on the old or the new search?

I just have to patch the clients.  I'll do that soon, its on the to-do list and should be fixed within a few days.  The latest finduo expansion has been very intensive, as I work out the bugs I'll be able to fine tune and polish stuff like this, but its a known issue hehe.

Just searched for magical lockbox and got this ...

But the problem of the "months later" on all the hottest new items again is the fact that I (in the past) haven't patched my clients unless its been forced.  This has partly been due to the fact I like to tackle one issue at a time and my latest issue has been getting the new finduo done (I've been working on it 60 hours a week since I introduced the greater luna area like last April).  There's a ton of stuff I haven't made live yet, and many people will believe the best has yet to come!  There's some more amazing stuff coming that I just have to "turn on", just working some bugs out of it.

Once things are settled down and I can relax somewhat, I'll always patch immediately and all new items will instantly show up.  Thanks for being patient in the meantime hehe.

By the way, patching isn't as easy as just "patching".  I have to do some vodoo magic to make the new patch work, not to mention I live in the Philippines now so I have to a friend of mine who manages my computers in the US to apply these changes.  But don't worry I'll get it done more frequently here shortly hehe.

I'm not sure whats causing this, i'm guessing I strip out the word "name" because of "vendor name" and I shorten it, this is the last issue you mentioned and I'll see if I can get it fixed sometime today.

In the meantime you could search for

token change -gender

This will find all tokens just like you were, that finds both name and gender change tokens, and then it subtracts all the genders.  (the - sign means find everything in the phrase but exclude all the words with a - in front of it).

Yes I know, great search functionality ... be nice if I actually told anyone this!  Manual ... soon hehe.

Thanks for using finduo!

i tried my 2 searches (lockbox and exceptional talisman) in your new beta search and they both worked awesome - i got the expected result set.  using the older version still produces wonky results.  but i'm going to be using the new version from today on out!
i really appreciate all your hard work - i cannot imagine the amount of work that goes into something like finduo - i am continuously in awe of what it can do!!!  awesome job.

Hehe thanks.  The old version probably got broke when I fixed the databasing a few weeks ago.  I don't have any intentions of fixing it, the old search will go when i'm confident the new search is stable.

excellent plan - the new search has so many spectacular updates & upgrades that i can't imagine anyone would want to use the old version now that the new one is available Smiley
