Ok, congrats on taking over Find UO, I see lots of changes I haven't used or taken advantage of yet but FindUO seems to be actively adapting and progressing so this is a good thing, sorry to hear about your troubles with your competition.
There is something that is bothering me with FindUO and I would LOVE if it was addressed, unfortunately up until now I didn't know of a way to contact the dev/owner and address the issue so I hope this message arrives at its intended audience although I'm not entirely sure the new owner can help because the problem began about 3 mos ago, before the website came under new ownership.
Here it is: Previously (before ~3mos ago), FindUO was able to do a "true" Google-type search using any combination of very specific parameters. At some random point in time this suddenly changed although this was before the new ownership, there was no perceivable change to the site, no big update or overhaul, the old search functions just stopped working as they had up until that point and I'm wondering what changed... (and would like to see them restored).
Ok the only way I can describe the problem is by citing specific examples so here goes... and BTW, I'm talking about the Classic Search, I've never tried the new version.. much like I still use the 2D client!
Previously, I used to be able to type this in the box [ "Spell Damage Increase 12%" bracelet ] (pretend the square brackets are the text box and not part of the search string) In the old search, the results would return JUST bracelets with exactly 12% spell damage increase... Currently, the search returns any bracelet with the the words "spell" "damage" and "increase" in it and completely ignores the 12 and the percentage sign. Some of the items returned do not even have 12 anywhere in their price or description or properties. It seems the symbols are no longer recognized... (the percent sign etc) but up until 3 months ago it worked perfectly. Comma's don't seem to recognize either.
Another Example, I used to be able to search the following [ "price: 4" ] and it would only return items that were exactly the price of 4 gold, now it returns anything with the word price which is actually every item on every vendor in game. Again it appears as though it searches for the word price but the punctuation mark is ignored and the 4 as well is disregarded.
Finally, I used to be able to search for [ "Exceptional Bonus: 30%" Talisman ] again this would only return tallies with an exceptional bonus of 30, not regular bonus, not anything but 30... now it doesn't work...
I notice the "-" symbol still works fortunately you can mask some of the search results with this VERY handy feature but it seems other symbols are rendered inoperable when they have previously worked.
I originally heard of searchuo.com and started with that engine but as soon as I found out about Finduo.com I immediately switched... this was for 2 reasons... 1) I could search across all shards at once, and 2) because I could type exact strings punctuation included and get very specific results. It seems a few months ago Finduo.com has lost that second ability, any particular reason? can you fix this broken problem?
Thanks,
