Returning Old Veteran

So i took a break for a while, and im back and things are totally different.  Is there anything that can be done solo these days?? I was involved in factions when i left but that has changed so i have just resorted to using my pvm characters because i just want to see whats out there. My guild has definitely disappeared so im just trying to figure out what monsters are worth the trouble for gold/items or what is fun to solo on this game these days?
